Mission Statement: In the spirit of Cooperation with the communities of the Tongue River Valley, we will enrich the quality of community life by providing physical, social, recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities, which enhance self-esteem, promote self-reliance, and cultivate positive values, and good character.

Building Hours:
Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 7:30pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 7:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am – 7:30pm
Friday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
We plan to extend our hours for the fall/winter season.
Fees to Use the facility:
$1.00 daily usage fee OR
MEMBERSHIP:
$10.00 /month ($100.00/year)
$25.00 / family   ($250.00/year)
(Fees include use of computers, wireless internet, game room, weight room, and multi purpose room activities and events.)

Some classes and programs will require additional fees.
Youth Scholarships are available.  Please see the Director for more information.


Fall/Winter Offerings

Health and Fitness:

Weight room: (must be in the 9th grade or older to use the weight room.  Closed toed athletic shoes and athletic clothing required): Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, weight stack machines, balls, and bands

Free Weight room orientations, Free exercise Consultations, Built-in circuit training routine, work out with a personal trainer at a reduced cost.

Exercise Classes:

Total Body Conditioning: This class provides a total body workout. The class will combine various forms of kickboxing, step, hi-low, and circuit training with some weight lifting and abdominal toning to give you a complete workout. No previous experience required.

Session 1: Sept. 10—27 (3 week session)

Session 2:  Oct. 1—Nov. 8 (6 week session)

Cardio Sculpt: This is a FUN Aerobics class.  You'll get a strong cardiovascular and muscular workout all in one using various aerobics equipment.

Women on Weights: Are you a woman who has always eyed those weights but felt unsure or uncomfortable with where to begin?  Are you a woman who wants to know the correct lifting technique?  Then this class is for YOU!

When: Wednesdays
Oct. 3—24; 6:30—7:30pm
Cost: $10.00

Senior Stretch and Strength: Older adults benefit from exercises designed to condition, strengthen, and increase range of motion.  Exercises are chosen to improve posture, balance, flexibility, coordination, endurance and bone density.  This class is lead by a certified health and fitness instructor.

When: Tuesdays: 9:30—10:15am
           Thursdays: 10:00—10:45am               
Cost: $1.00/day or free to members

Yoga:

Hatha Yoga - Through yoga you can learn stretching, muscle toning, breathing and relaxation exercises to release tension and enable you to feel more fit.   Give your body and spirit an hour of rejuvenating focus.

When:    Tuesdays: 6:00—7:00pm
              Thursdays: 5:30—6:30pm
6 week session: Oct. 1—Nov. 8
Cost: $50.00

Restorative Yoga - Give your body and spirit an hour of rejuvenating focus.  This restorative method creates greater flexibility, balance and inward connection, reducing stress and increasing clarity of mind.

When: Mondays, 9:30—10:45am
6 week session: Oct. 1—Nov. 5
Cost: $30.00

Youth:

After School Programs:

Extended Learning Center: Fun after school activities to start Mid-Sept.  More information and details as the school year gets underway.

Smarty Bus: The SMARTY (Sharing Mobile After School Resources, Training Youth) Bus program in Sheridan County teaches third through sixth graders about everything from drugs to rocket science, providing them with a fun and educational after school activity.  The SMARTY Bus will be coming to the TRVCC once a month for these fun activities.  Watch for more details as the school year gets underway.

Note to Parents: If your child chooses to come to the community center after school we need you to come sign a waiver and emergency release.  Thank you!

Dance Classes: Dance for kids is here!  Sandy Couture, experienced dance instructor, will be here Friday mornings to teach dance.

Friday Programs: Brenda’s Creative Kids: A fun Friday program throughout the semester.  Please stop in and get a calendar of events.

  • Friday FUN: Watch for Friday activities at the community center as the school year gets started.
  • Friday Night FUN: Come enjoy a movie on the big screen.  Yummy popcorn to go with it.

Game Room: We have pool tables, air hockey tables, foosball tables, board games, movies, x-box games, ping-pong tables.  Come enjoy some fun challenging games.  Bring a friend or family member!
